BreedAndBowl is a dog food review and guide blog with one focus — your dog's specific breed. Not dogs in general. Not a generic top 10 list that works for every breed and therefore works for none. I write specifically about what French Bulldogs need, what Labradors need, what Golden Retrievers need, and what German Shepherds need and so on. That's it.
I talk about the best food by breed, honest food reviews and comparisons, feeding guides by age and breed, and plain-English ingredient breakdowns. Everything on this site is written with one question in mind — is this actually right for this specific dog?

From Frustration to Precision: The BreedAndBowl Origin Story
I wasted money on the
wrong food. My dog paid for it.
A few years ago I got a French Bulldog ''Churro''. I was excited, a little clueless, and like most new dog owners I walked into the pet store and grabbed whatever looked good on the shelf. Decent brand, nice packaging, reasonable price. I thought I was doing right by him.
I wasn't. He started having digestion issues, low energy, and a coat that looked dull. I went back to the store and tried something else. Then something else again. I was spending money I didn't need to spend, on products that weren't right for his breed and my dog was the one dealing with the consequences.
That's when I started actually researching. Not just "best dog food" Google searches but digging into what French Bulldogs specifically need. Their body structure, their sensitive stomachs, their brachycephalic build. Turns out breed matters more than most people realise when it comes to what goes in the bowl.
I built BreedAndBowl because I couldn't find one place that answered that question clearly, what should this specific breed actually eat? No generic lists. No one-size-fits-all top tens. Just honest, breed-specific guidance that helps you make the right call before you waste money on the wrong product.
That's what this site is. Written for dog owners, by someone who's been exactly where you are.
This is Churro, my French Bulldog and the real reason BreedAndBowl exists. Before Churro, there was no site. Just a confused dog owner buying the wrong food and watching his dog pay for it. Every article, every guide, and every recommendation on this site is written because of what Churro went through and to make sure your dog doesn't have to go through the same thing.
